Bread, dogs and cheese...hold the olive oil

Apparently many people seem to have their knickers up in a bunch at the recent blog posts of FB
( mostly), Wookie and in some part, me. But I guess when it comes to people of celebrity status, i.e FCI, its understandable. I just hope it doesn't get the circus attention the likes of Mawi and Diana....hmmm..... is our FCI that famous?

On to more mundane and hence safe topic...bread. To be more exact, Gion bread, from Kyoto, Japan. Cuurently its being sold in Jusco MV for 18 bcuks a loaf. You read right...18 bucks! A loaf also weighs a good kilogram and my mum did the math...it costs a ringgit a slice. Taste wise, it has a buttery flavour and actually is quite nice to munch on. Once toasted, its pretty good. It claims not to have any butter in it though and apparently a lot more nutritious from your local Gardenia. But then again, they can claim anything right?

Now on to dogs...well, one dog, mine. My darling Jackie girl....just wanted to put up this cute ( definitely not ugly ) pic of Jackie and BH....don't they both just make you go "awwww"

i just went to buy the Gion bread! It took me 30mins of driving fr KL and 10mins of circling MV's parking area before i illegally parked at the side of some fire extingiusher in Zone E.

Tried some from th nice Japanese gentleman. Wow, it is more than double the size of a Gardenia and really weighs a ton! Yummy!

If u like breads, the bakery in Axis is also good. The health breads are absolutely delicious and the yam bun not only has a yam filling but bits of mashed red bean. A tad pricey but very filling and full of goodness!

Oso bought some Beards Papa cream puff and choc fondant. I wonder if it tastes Like FBB's choc cake? I lurvve the choc fondant warm, the choc juz oozes out!

Now eating some of the spoils of my food expedition in the office! hehehe

I'm not really a bread person, having grown up eating the stuff for breakfast everyday until now. But I do like my puri's and chappati's...I guess I am Indian after all. Right, Ranjit? Hmmm... choc thingy from Beard Papa sounds interesting though.shanticombatr

BH and SC,

Ya, all the trouble for the huge loaf of bread!hahaha! Now cannot finish it!

I am a bread person la...It is dense and soft..only complaint is it has a very strong margarine smell, altho it is made fr veg oil!

They gave a brochure with the bread and they have shops in Bangsar Village, etc, the same shop i used to buy japanese pumpkin cake. The cake is very nice but also costs a bomb!LIke 7.50 for half a loaf, rm14 for one whole loaf.is

The choc fondant very nice. Melt it in the oven or microwave for 10sec. The chocolate centre is melty and is not too sweet, just nice. expensive oso la rm4.40 for one small porton!

hmmm, have not try this new Gion bread. Do they sell it in Jusco 1U u reckon? MV is a tad too far to travel and it's rather pricey for a loaf of bread....

My fave bread is Queen's Bread from Sun Moulin (1U and KLCC). It's really soft and nice and u can eat it on its own. Wow, sound like Gardenia theme song...Ok, price is around RM6.50 a loaf i think? The turkey ham buns are good too...yum-yum..

New bread place inside Jaya S'mkt is good....next to News Mags store. Errr, forgot name tho'. Les Toast or something like that...they have a bread named after Brokeback Mountain!!! *Snigger*

Looks like there are many bread people out here. I think they will start promoting the bread in 1U sometime middle of the month kwa...so my mum said lah. Its pricey, but its about double the size of Gardenia and a lot more filling. Should try, even if just once
