Ever been in this situation, small pit, probe barely sticking, enamel no signs of decalcification, colour is normal, so start with small round bur..slowly it goes in, then suddenly it drops..hits softer tissue..So, you enlarge the access..bigger round bur...and it keeps going..and going and going...
It's like Alice isn't it, in Wonderland, falling down that rabbit hole? It just keeps going on and on..and suddenly you regret not giving LA.It's starting to get sensitive. But you persevere..you see a light at the end of that dark tunnel. It's getting harder, not so soft, not so dark, definitely you can feel it leathery. So you clear up some more. It's really sensitive by now, but you think, heck, just a bit more..almost cleared it all, healthy tissue in sight..
And then it happens..you see it. A small little spot, bright red..darn! Pulp exposed. And there you go, cursing in your head because you told the patient, "It's just a small little pit", and now, there's the possibility of endo and you wished you'd taken a PA, you wish you'd put on a rubber damn. Damn! Too late.
Just line it, fill it, medicate the patient and hope for the best.Either you never see the patient for this tooth again, or patient comes in, a year or so later, with throbbing pain that occurs mostly at night, started with pain to cold, then to hot and now, just all the damn time. Patient can't sleep, can't eat, can't function..so now you give LA, and place a rubber damn lor!
Small pit turned out to be a root canal..

For the past 4 months..hmm, we've been married that long, BH and I have been living with his folks. Originally I thought we were supposed to live apart, which is what most people do, after getting legally married, before they throw the big dinner. But my dad insisted that we should live together. So I upped and moved in with BH and his folks. It wasn't easy, I'm not complaining mind you, his folks are great! But you know lah..

It occurred to me as I was sitting in the customer lounge that my car, does not have a name, unlike a certain Rpmnut. But then hor, my car isn't turquoise either.
My car, like it's owner is spunky, direct and doesn't take much shit from anyone. The gender of my car shall remain unspecific, solely for the reason that I can't decide if it feels more like a tough female or a gentle male. And no, cars are not bisexual. So for all intents and purposes, it shall remain asexual.
All these earth shattering revelations came to me while I was waiting for car to be serviced. Toyota service centres are comfy, they give you nice comfy chairs, astro and a huge window for you to gaze at the mechanics working on your car. Sweaty, greasy men in uniform..hmm.
They also feed you..made me happy. Amazing what some biscuits and milo can do. I gladly ( well, not too reluctantly) parted with what, I believe, would have been the tea lady who served me my milo and biscuits, monthly income. Nobody said Toyota service is cheap. But I had too, car deserved a good service, plus still under warranty.Really am banking on the warranty here and not hua ren tea..
But seriously, what should be car's name? Sparky for spark plugs? Sounds too much like Spot for dog..I like Bumblebee, but no part of car resembles a yellow Camaro. For the record, it's champagne gold and like I said, its got attitude. You know car's got personalities, right? I mean, there are the tough, move over if you're hogging the fast lane ones ( like BH's), the quirky ones, the I-don't-give-a-shit ones, the mommy, gentle ones, the crazy, I think I'll swerve out anywhere anytime I want ones....you know what I mean? Car is..steady, reliable, doesn't cause trouble, patient, but don't you go messing with car, especially you crazy, swerve outta nowhere ones. Like I said, car's got attitude.
Maybe I'll just stick with car..

It sure feels..well, nice when someone you don't like, who is evil, gets what's due to them! I know, I'm bad...muahahahaha. ( Must-try-not-to-be-so-BAD!)But heck, when evil people who do evil things to you get evil things happening to them..a bit susah not to feel like justice done, right? To err is human, after all.
On another note, it's amazing what people do to get attention. Like blogs for instance, to get traffic, we'll say anything, even flame others..heh, the world of blogging,eh? Blog wars..nice to read, if you're an outsider. Or write all sorts of shit about other people, behind their backs, with secret code names..wait a minute..sounds familiar. No love there I guess.
And even in the gym, like pretending to work out. Don't think striking a pose on machines counts! Love those signs in Uptown, Use it or Move it, very appropriate, Heh. Gyms, full of drama too.The stories ans accusations abound..who did what to whom, all attention grabbers.
Which reminds me, apparently I get more traffic when Ed's pics are up, as apposed to mine. Darn it! Ok, will post more pics of the dog, since you prefer him to pics of me..(sulk)..
Note I-Ben the terrible: you'll get yours today for calling me a Patpong girl! Muahahahaha!!!
If I'm being vague today, it's cos I am vague and my brain is dead. So, if you read this and it sounds like incoherrent ramblings, it is ler..

Before more people get the idea that I'm counting down 9 months, I'm actually counting down 3 months..to the wedding dinner!!! Heh..FBB, me not with bun in oven ler..not that we don't want kids, we aren't quite ready for them yet.Seriously, how did you get to that conclusion?
Aiyo, just bought a place, also spending money on dinner and all other related costs ( the dress, the pictures, ie before and during, the invites, the favours, the..the list is endless). You think we have cash for a kid? Heck, it's a 20 year plus minimum "investment". But apart from that, we just aren't ready lah, for a mini BH or mini me. But when the time comes, God willing..terror will be unleashed upon the world..muahahahaha..
To recap, the story so far..BH and I, legally married since Dec 10, 2007.. Why? Main reason to be disclosed later, but one reason is why not? Another is..2008 traffic jam lar, EVERYONE wants to be registered in 2008..you think we wanna join the crowd?
So, since both sides parents wanted it official, we served tea oredi lor, we had makan for my Indian relatives and neighbours oredi lor..basically did most everything about the time we got registered lah, except for the chinese wedding dinner. The only thing we missed out is the "cheap sun leong"..ie fetching bride..well, it was done la, but I only had Wendy as my bridesmaid and Bh didn't get no wasabi cocktails and such..suffice to say, easy peasy ceremony for him. It was a Monday, we didn't wanna trouble anyone. Other than Wendy, who took the pics, the best man, our relatives, my mum's friends, my dad's cousin..you get the picture.
So now, we just have to have the dinner and the church blessing and of course the corny pictures..which is why it's 3 months and counting ler, to the dinner date.
Luckily, have Brains for codes and Long hair Down South and now Crazy Attack Fella to help..anyone else wanna volunteer?
Oh..and before I forget, doesn't anyone wanna take up the bet?

Ok, so this was then... I could still walkabout in the gym, mid-driff a-baring..can't do that now. Call it being happy, call it being married, call it plain lazy..heh.
But now, I have slightly less than 3 months, to get back to that! Heck, I'm not keen on looking like at cow at my own wedding, ok?
It's gonna take a lot of restraint, seeing as the past 2 weeks, BH and I have been frequenting our favourite rib/hokkien mee place..sigh. And have been lazy, just did BC 35 TODAY! ( it was launched a week ago, I think..)
Even Uncle Bill, commented that BH had put on weight. What to do? His charsiew damn good la, and we had to have some today ( and we also got to hear a really funny post-election joke, heheheh). The Batu Gajah roasted pork, with Tanjung Tualang lala, soft shell crab, curry fish head, prawn and desert yesterday didn't help either.Did I forget to mention the pizza for dinner last night?
I have my work cut out for me..so, anyone wanna take up a bet on if I can do it? The odds are against me?!

My eyelashes were doing a salute to Hitler, but they were mine, not fake ones, the makeup was as thick as Kim Gary's thick toast, the sun was in our eyes, we were dripping in sweat, our smiles, more like grimaces, from the many times we had to do it, but it was a bright and sunny day! Until 3pm, when the rain clouds blew in. But by then, our outdoor shoot was done, and we headed back for our indoor shots.
Initially, we didn't want indoor shoots, but since my dress was ready, and we didn't want that dirtied, we decided what the heck? Oh, did I mention I had instant thick long hair? Bh wanted to have his hair extended too..to get that Captain Jack Sparrow look, but we decided the thick eyeliner just wasn't right for him
Hopefully our next shoot will be just as sunny..oh, it ain't over yet! One more to go..I mean, we did pay for it..heh

Having postponed the shoot last week, come rain, hail or storm, we're gonna do it tomorrow. Won't hurt is the sky is blue..won't hurt at all.
We'll see lah, tomorrow!

In no particular order..
-Public ( and not so public) holidays spent doing NOTHING
-The day I fell in love
-The day the guy I fell in love with married me!
-The day my parents decided to take me along to Europe
-When everything at work falls into place
-A great workout in gym...not enough of this, these days, darn it!
-Pay day...for a moment, I feel RICH...world domination is MINE..muahahaha..then I realise peanuts can't buy anything, maybe elephant allegiance.
-Spa days..or facial days..or manicure days...ah..
Why this post?..Because of this lar..

You, my darling husband..I wake up each day next to you, we commute together, we eat dinner together, but yet I feel it's not enough time.
You, my Appa and mummy..I see you every alternate day, but yet I feel, it's still just not enough time, just not enough.
You, Father and Mother in law..I see you everyday, before I go to work, when I get home, but yet, I feel it's not enough.
You, my dear friends, some whom I haven't seen in a long time..I miss you, and I feel I just don't have the time..
I don't spend enough time with you..I wish my patients understood, I wish my boss understood, I wish my colleagues understood..I need time, I need to spend more time with you.

The last week, someone from some company has been calling my office to speak to me. When he calls, I'm busy, so I ask the receptionists to take down a message. The guy refuses to do so. Thinking it must be some telesales thing, I've been avoiding his calls, until my girls told me that he would send someone over. Wow, persistent sales guy...so I decided to talk to him the next time he calls.
He called this morning...
What he had to say was shocking and a little unnerving..
He claimed I owed his company money, after transferring balance from a credit card or something like that and he'd had a conversation with me regarding the matter, which was recorded, in October last year..
Thing is, I don't have a credit card with that bank and I really don't know the guy, nor have I spoken to him, but he kept asking me, if he called my first name correctly, and I said yes. But then he asked if my IC number was 75XXXXX..then I knew he had the wrong person. So I kept telling him so..but he insisted he'd recorded that info with Dr. ( my name) see..
Then, I asked him for that person's last name...this is where it gets interesting...why? It wasn't mine.
There's another person in the office with the same first name as me..but she isn't a Dr. And the guy is actually looking for her..so I had to tell the guy, wrong name, wrong person, correct office.
Sounds like a simple misunderstanding, right? But then, why is it in his system that a DR. (my name) owes them money? I'm the only Dr.(my name) here..hmm..
Am now thankful that no one came looking for me in person, seeing as I avoided the calls, they might think that I owe them money..goodness knows who these people are and what the can do.
As for the person they are looking for? Well, All I can do is tell the boss, that this happened..can't do anything else right? BH thinks I should make a police report, in case anything does happen to me. But on hindsight, the guy did realise he'd gotten the wrong person on the phone..and I'm hoping they corrected their "system". Online checks of the company show it to be a credit retrieval company..should I be concerned?

Friday was slow, Saturday was slower..all because people had left the city to VOTE! Little did I know that so many people were so gung ho this time! The last elections were a ho-hum affair, but this time, the vibe was different.
Not only did many friends ( and head teacher), my nurses, their families and even some bloke BH and I overheard (who flew) return home, but many others as well. I guess people wanted to have their say and so many must have been waiting a long time to let their opinions be heard.
And boy, was it LOUD! ( and clear.)
If you haven't read the news, you must have been sleeping under some mega big coconut shell. They call it a tsunami..I call it a miracle, one that's been a long time coming.
Bh and I were at a wedding dinner, but the topic at most tables was not the bride, how pretty she looked, the food or even the whole event, but rather who was winning the elections. The table next to us, which looked like it comprised many datuks, was all abuzz with news of DAP taking 4 seats. This started our table with the sms-ing! Sms's were received, many which we thought were hoaxes, after all, how can a mega big politician lose to a teeny little lady in a tudung? But fall she did..Bangsar will never be the same!
When we got home, there was more news..big political head honcho's losing their seats to virtual unknowns and Penang, now an opposition state..wow! Can't get the picture of a very dejected former chief minister giving his "I concede defeat"speech on TV out of my head.. what a shock! And the works minister, losing in his constituency, one which he has held for umpteen years..OMG! What a blow. And they lost not by small margins too..many were to landslides!
The dust seems to have settled..it's no longer a 2/3 majority in parliment, with 82 seats to opposition..Kedah, Selangor ( OMG!!!), Perak, Kelantan and of course Penang..opposition states. Huiyo! KL..well, no real doubts there la, only one seat, Setiawangsa is BN's.. This has to be the biggest upset in our nation's politics since Independence.
I wonder what happens now? Our PM has been sworn in, but who will be his ministers? MIC, MCA,Gerakan, all the former power houses virtually wiped out! Can the opposition really bring about change? Boy, do they have heaps to do! I bet Parlimentary sittings will be a whole lot more interesting now..no more bocor-bocor and monkey calling monkey I hope!
But one thing is clear..the people have spoken. The people don't want "racial politics", they didn't back the parties that claimed to champion their own respective races, now did they? How else could MIC have lost? Looks like the people too pantang dicabar.
Lets hope and pray that this is all for the better, that there is indeed a ray of light at the end of what will be a long tunnel..this kind of change, doesn't come easily.I guess the next 4/5 years will indeed be interesting.

Ok, so there's this new BC guy right, and he once cleared in FF ( I think Shades cleared him lah), but in my opinion, he's pretty good for a newbie..though of course, Shades is our all time favourite, will never be replaceable, no one can ever hold a candle up to, can't push him off his pedestal BC instructor lah..but as the tittle goes..this guy is good.
Have added his link..check it out, it explains why he can't teach in FF ( or anywhere) for the moment..but when he's better..Shades please...bring him in.( though again, have to emphasise, you can't be replaced, you are the best, all time favourite, blah, blah, blah)

Funny how everything around me seems so busy..so full of busy-ness and I'm so BORED! I guess with all the flags waving around, all the MP's ( who conspicuously remain invisible for 4 years) suddenly holding talks in markets, it does tend to get very hectic. Even the bank today was a mad rush..it seems everyone wants to rush their work..whats the hurry? Balik mengundi ka? Maybe..
Could explain why traffic was so good..can explain why my patients have disappeared..I mean, it's NOT J-card day, there isn't a traffic snarl outside, preventing patients from coming in..so..
But I'm still so bored..maybe it's because the papers aren't full of NEWS these days, in my opinion, it's full of erm.."marketing advertorials", heh. Maybe I'm bored because our local tv has been somewhat hijacked of our full regular programming. Is it me or are the shows sorta truncated to enable "extra" adverts these days? And there I thought since we're paying for it, Astro would be free of adverts. Maybe it's from all the talks in the markets, in a whole range of languages from MP's normally never present?
Or maybe I'm bored of all the blue and red and light blue and green flags that block my view of incoming traffic and especially of road signs and in some instances take the form of HUGE billboards..( must have cost a lot..I wonder where the money comes from?)
Or maybe..I'm just bored! Bored or not, tomorrow, I also will balik "kampung" and well..go visit a school and cross a piece of paper lah. Like it's something you haven't done at least once in the last 10 years? If you haven't, you're either way too young or.. just too lazy. If it's the latter, shame on you! I over heard a guy the other day, so gung ho..gonna fly home to vote! Serial numbered or not, it's our say. If you don't vote, I sure as hell don't wanna hear you complain, cos' you have NO RIGHT to, since you didn't want to vote in the first place! See..now I'm all bored and fired up.
Maybe after all this I won't be so bored?

She's 62, been voting all the while since she could..has been voting in an opposition dominated constituency for the last 20 plus 30 years, but this year, when she wanted to check her polling station, her records were lost. Checked www.spr.gov.my and her record could not be found. Checked at DAP..they said, can't do anything. Called spr..the lady said most likely the system thinks she's passed on..WTF?Choi!
Am quite upset for my mum..she has to re-register as a voter and miss this elections! Someones got some explaining to do! She has been denied her right as a citizen! It's a big travesty in our eyes. Anyone know who/where we can refer to to bring up the matter?

| What Santhi Means |
You have the whole world under your spell, and you can influence almost everyone you know. You don't always resist your urges to crush the weak. Just remember, they don't have as much going for them as you do. You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection. You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. You have the classic "Type A" personality. You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people. You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts. You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals. You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life. You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home. You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble. You are truly an original person. You have amazing ideas, and the power to carry them out. Success comes rather easily for you... especially in business and academia. Some people find you to be selfish and a bit overbearing. You're a strong person. You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing. You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long. You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start. |

Been getting a lecture on LOVE the past few weeks, curtesy of BH's cousin. I always thought I knew what love was/is..but boy have I been proved wrong. The latest lecture is on love does not delight in evil..after of course, love is not rude, love keeps no records of wrong and I belive next week will be love trust...you see where I'm going with this?
Anyway, what he said made a lot of sense, where he got all this from, makes even more sense. The thing about love is, I've come to realise that this simple four letter word makes a lot of difference in one's outlook in life. It's not about the kind of love that makes one's heart skip a beat, it's the kind of love that really makes the world turn round...it's not an easy love to achieve, let me tell you this, cos' it says, this love does not delight in evil..and have to admit, at one point or other, we all delight in evil. As in, we just love to see it when our enemies get into trouble right?
Well, am trying real hard at the L-O-V-E thing, not just with BH, my famiily and friends, but with everyone..maybe then the world will seem a better place?
A belated Valentine's post, I know, but heck...I don't buy into the whole cupid/hallmark/roses thing on Feb. 14th...why can't we show love any other and every other day?

It's the year of the Rat...and Mickey Mouse has not been kind. This fire dragon has done the reverse of most Chinese New Year traditions..instead of the usual weight gain, I lost 2 kilo's.How did I do it? It's called food poisoning..and it must be timed right, ie on CNY eve...that way, 1st day, 2nd day..and onwards, you really can't eat anything, don't feel like eating anything and hence ...don't gain anything!
Had to pass on all the goodies..the cookies, the fried bulbs, the dried meat ( even now the mere thought of this makes me sick, when usually a Pavlov reaction would ensue).BH's cousin inlaw was amazed at my self restraint as I watched everyone indulge..I had to tell her, it wasn't self restraint, it was forced restraint.
Well, apart from the diet..CNY has been enlightening..meeting Bh's side of the family, and boy is it a family, has been fun..it's amazing to see so many characters..hmm...now I know where he gets his sense of humour. But honestly, can't remember much past the first day..the other days went by like a breeze..well, more like an acrid stench, as I was pretty much in bed most the time, mouth sour, tummy all a rumble..but the good news is..I'm still on holiday!!!!!! Yeah, am off for one whole week..till friday! Why? Why not? Heck..I missed 4 days already, right?
Am gonna try to enjoy the last vestiges of my holiday..house hunting, home loan shopping, home furnishing shopping, dress fitting, wedding planning and all..oh, did I forget to mention gastro specialist visiting as well? Yeah, 3 gastritis attacks in one month is a bit too much. Finally decided to see the tummy guy again..this time he wants to shove another probe in..geez..I really wanna say NO!!!! But the family is pushing for it..damn it! So, am on meds and no dairy,no seafood,no spice diet...basically means no good food diet..and probably will lose more weight! The only upside to this fiasco. So, how was your CNY holiday?

Been a while...busy mah!
Of Ed...
Ed's name on his vet card is now Ed Hill...and the vet thinks he's more hound than spaniel..heh. Yeah, took him last Sunday for his shot..brave boy, didn't even wince when the neddle went in..but he threw up in the car later. Dunno if it was cos' of the shot, or because of mum's driving..( I had to hold the fler,la, so mum drove)...luckily, he upchucked in his little basket, in one corner..
Ed didn't feel so good after that, his leg must have ached from the shot, so Ed, became very subdued for a bit. Being the pup that he is, one quick power nap later, he was off and jumping at Jackie! Oh, and the young fart has learnt how to growl and bark! In the vets, safe in his basket, he barked at two Rottweilers! I think without the safety of said basket, he wouldn't have made a peep! But it was so cute...and the Rotts? Didn't bother to respond..too tiny a threat! Hah!
Now we have to train him, cos he growled at a little girl when we took him out for a walk..I guess he growls when he's scared..oh, and boy, is he growing! Last weigh in...3.6 kg's and gaining! Shucks. Looks like we're stuck with a Basset after all..BH thinks he's ugly..hehe
Of other things..
It's been busy, we've been looking at houses, trying to find one that suites us, budget and space wise..from viewing studios in Bangsar ( Jamnah and Tivolli), to houses in Desa Park City..kinda like Park City, nice, cosy, safe and it's landed. But pricey and with maintenance fee too...sigh. I wish money grew on trees and I had one of those!
As for wedding..well, the gowns being made ( am NOT gonna wear a rental!) and the photo shoot should be in March..And the rest...hopefully will fall into place. Need a good on day photographer..anyone got suggestions?
And so...with CNY coming, life just got super duper busy!

It's been almost a week since I last blogged..sorry people! It's been busy and I've been lazy...can't help it lar. Anyway, have found out that quite a number of people silently check on this site, just for a good read, to find out if they get mentioned or just to see what I'm up too..well, for what ever reason, I'm glad you popped by, carry on doing that and hopefully you get mildly entertained with what you read lah.
Ok, so it's January and things have been busy...what with you wonder? House hunting, wedding planning, church attending and of course the photo shoots. OK, the house hunting, etc, etc, etc all not much to talk about la. I mean apart from BH and I looking at apartments and what not, not that interesting la. The wedding thing also, well, we're just updating our contact list, without a date yet..sigh. We don't wanna rush, but we are getting rushed..long story.
Back to the more interesting stuff, the photo shoots...which by the way, were NOT for our wedding! It all began with Shades..who decided to use our story, about how we met in the gym, (and ended up Mr & Mrs), for some meeting in Thailand. It wasn't THAT kind of meeting, it was for our gym one la. This lead to someone seeing a story and wanting to write about it for a fitness magazine..some couples who work out together thing. ( I wonder if anyone would do a story on couples who pig out together?) So, one photo shoot was done last year, with BH and I working out together-gether la..hehehehehe.
Then about a week ago, I get another call, our gym wants to use our story as well. Hmm...but the shoot was on a weekday. After pondering the plus points ( a day off work, and the very nice carrot offered) we decided to do it lah. So, thanks to Shades, we'd done 2 photo shoots so far...hehehehe.
What's it like? Fun lah...but damn tiring man. The photographer was a real perfectionist, tilt head here, move closer, don't smile too much, etc...it took a few hours, but it was an experience! Can't say anything else about both shoots, seeing that the pics are not out yet and also not even sure if BH and I will end up being featured, but all in all, thanks to Shades ( notice I'm giving you publicity?), BH and I got the chance to have some fun in front of the camera and there wasn't any food involved in the picture taking process!
If this was tough, I can't imagine our wedding pics! Aiyo!

Yea, December's come and gone..it's now a New Year, back to the grinder, etc,etc,etc...apparently, I've been hit by the New Year's Blahs..thankfully, Jan 1st this year fell on a Tuesday and not a Monday. Can't imagine the Monday Blah's combined with the New Year's blahs.
In an attempt to drag myself out of the blahs, am compiling a list of things to look forward to..hehehehehe. MUST-DRAG-SELF-OUT-OF-THE-BLAHS. So, here it is!
1) CNY...just a month away, I get one week off, loads of dinners and cookies and goodies and new clothes ( and the shopping that comes with it!)..only downside is this year, I don't get ang pows. Instead, I have to hand em out...darn! All you flers hoping to make a killing out of my ang pows ( this means you, Ben), forget it...I'm a cheapskate..save your airfare, hehehehe...
2)House hunting...BH and I are looking for our own place, be it here, there. anywhere...so far, it's been fun, really can't wait to have my own kitchen to blow up..you'll be the first to read the headlines "Girl who can't cook destroys kitchen.."
3) Wedding plans..yea, we did the whole registration thing, Indian lunch thing, tea ceremony thing and the Hindu temple thing...oh, but we're sooo NOT done yet! Why? Bh wants a church thing, plus there's dinner that's not done with yet! So, ladies and gentlemen, for the next few months, Mr. and Mrs. BH, will be busy every Sunday, either in church or preparing for our wedding...when? Err....this one, we are still planning lah. Oh, and there's marriage counselling thing...I think it's a great idea, cos' honestly, we're both new at this...why not get some more experienced people's views? Which brings me to number 4
4) Building a new life with BH...no doubt we still feel the same as before we signed that blue piece of paper, but slowly, it's sinking in..we're about to move on in the next phase of life. For both, a lot of changes have occurred..and I just feel all excited about it, building our lives together, especially since we're both starting from scratch, financially, spiritually. It's gonna be a challenge, but I feel, it's gonna be fun.
5) Hopefully a honeymoon, finally..BH and I have been sooo busy ( and broke)..hehehehe..more busy than broke lar, so we really couldn't take any time off after all the hoo-ha..the next step is to plan a honeymoon, after the church thing and the dinner thing..maybe just a few days off...some place quiet, throw away the phones and just relax.
6) A busy, busy 2008...apparently, a good year for dragons (me) and rabbits (BH) in the career department...hehehehe...Dunno if that's a good thing, but heck, it sure will make things interesting!
7) My apartment will be ready this year! After 3 years...it's finally gonna be done. And nope, we're not moving there ( not unless we have to)...cos' it's in Subang! That's too far for BH..I bought the place before I met him, so we'll keep it for the time being...but it will be fun furnishing the place! ( the downside to this of course, is the financial bit...)
There's the list so far...7 things to look forward to, there will be more..which I shall definitely add on to..here's to 2008!

How did Mrs. BH spend her first birthday? With 3 dinners, one high-tea, one cake cutting, one photo shoot and a hair raising mystery solved..
Lets start with the food bit. ( check out BH's blog for the full review)
Dinner 1: Was with my folks the day before. Having exhausted all avenues in getting fresh seafood for a homecooked seafood claypot dish, mum decided to take us out. So she made reservations at our usual place, Fullweath in KB. Our tummies were busting after the seafood, yam basket, 4 aces vege, cod fish and tofu dinner.
Dinner 2: My in laws also wanted to take me out and so, a dinner on my birthday, at Summer Palace, Marriot Putrajaya ensued. The journey there was extra long, since we decided to try the new highway..which detoured into Putrajaya before we could get to the Marriot. But dinner overall, good. The Peking duck could have been crispier, the ostrich was too tough ( so we got it changed to some prawn thing), but the sweet and sour chicken was good, as was the lotus root mixed vege..another busting tummy experience.
Dinner 3: BH, originally planned to wine and dine me on my birthday, but got his plans dashed by MIL...hehehehe. Anyway, we ended up dinig, but not wining, the next day. Instead of his original plan for dinner at some restaurant in KL, I had a fetish for Thai. We ended up at Sri Ayutthya, Medan Damansara. I think we ordered too much, despite what the waiter said ( no, no, enough for two). Yet another belly busting exercise of scallops cooked thai style, glass noodle kerabu, chicken green curry, tom yum thalay, pineapple fried rice, petai prawns and siakap thai style ensued. When we saw the table next to us order just fried rice for two, we knew we were in trouble. The food, though very good, was too much..heh. But this place, is fast becoming my favourite.
High tea: BH and I planned an apartment viewing on Sunday ( yea, we're actually looking for our own place), when his brother calls up and says he has vouchers for high tea at Eastin, which expire that very day. Since no one else was free, BH and I dragged my folks over for high tea. The spread was good, but the taste...not! Wouldn't go back again, free vouchers or not.
The cake cutting: Was working on my birthday, and after lunch, got a surprise cake-cutting/song singing by my staff..ended up blowing one candle too many and getting stuffed with chocolate cake. Thank God none of them went to SJI..birthday traditions carry from there..not pretty!
The hair raising mystery: Have you ever wondered if a certain politician's hair is real? I mean, the Elvis coif, extra high up front that still looks like a toupee? Yea, THAT minister..well, I found out! Was at the hair salon ( the famous one lar, in MV), getting a birthday cut, when I saw THAT minister walk in. He talked to the boss ( a much celebrated hair stylist) like they were old friends, and waited patiently for his turn ( it was a busy day). I wondered if the boss would actually do his hair..I mean, being famous herself, would she lend her name to his hair? Don't think that would be a good thing, actually! Anyway, sat for a while, and found out that yes, his hair is real, yes, he likes it THAT style, and no, the boss wasn't his stylist!
So there, that was Mrs. BH's first and most enjoyable birthday so far! Have to say, the last few days have been lovely..can't wait for 2008. And on that note,
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

When BH and I decided to get hitched, we originally planned just the registration, as we realised planning the whole shebang would be a mammoth task. However, our parents ( my dad mostly) wanted something more elaborate...at least a lunch for his relatives, so as not to confuse people. I can see his point, as he is very old-fashioned and he considers this the proper way...you're married, tell people, have a makan..that kinda thing.
So, we haven't done the chinese dinner, or our wedding pics, but we've done the tea ceremony ( BH's parents decided we might as well kau-tim that too) and the lunch, on the 23rd of December. For those of you who feel left out, please understand, this was a lunch for close relatives and friends of my dad's and our neighbours...there's still dinner, sometime next year, ok?
It's also been quite a shock for my friends from KB, whom I could not invite for this one, cos they all saw the huge pink and white canopies and wondered what happened. Having come to the right conclusion, they now wonder, how come they weren't invited? One simple reason, once we invite you for the luncheon, we can't invite you for the dinner. So, we decided to invite some people for lunch, as awe catered food specifically for them and some we will invite for the dinner later.
Since I'm on a roll explaining the whole thing, might as well go the whole nine yards...some people ( this means you, Ben) think we might have had to "rush" the whole thing due to "unforseen" circumstances. Let me make it clear, the only person who's tummy is increasing in size is BH's, and that's because of me...I feed him what I can't finish, hehehehehe....so no, no kids yet. Heh.
Righto...down to best part...I'll let the pics speak for themselves..the saree was nice, thankfully, I didn't look like a fish wrapped in newpaper...check out the next post, almost a complete pictorial.

A few people have asked, what it feels like, being married and all..a few have already started calling me by my married name...sounds a bit funny to me still, but I'm getting used to it! Hehehehe. Other than the fact that my left ring finger feels naked at the moment ( we sent our rings for minor adjustments yesterday), it's been good.
So far, I have inherited, overnight, another set of parents, a brother and sister in-law, a host of aunties and uncles and cousins, 2 nieces and a nephew. Can't wait to spoil the kids, they aren't mine, kekekeke ( evil laugh). It's gonna be fun being the nice aunt, who gives in to what the kids want.Hahahaha.
The downside is of course I no longer live with my folks, who must be missing me, though they do seem to be very busy of late. Oh well, it's an adventure, one I really am looking forward to.

I'm typing this with manicured fingers, post a face mask that made me look like some kinda alien. Ok, so it was an SKII one, didn't look quite that bad. But anyway..
It's the day before D-day..BH and I can't see each other, the first time since we started going out that we're doing this if both of us are in town, on a work free day. So what's a bride to be to do the day before she officially gets hitched? Nothing much actually.
Had planned to watch some chick flicks, but was way too tired ( it's been a tiring few weeks actually) and I couldn't find THE chick flick, the one I could watch over and over again, just because. Plus it occurred to me that BH doesn't really mind chick flicks, so...when I do find THE movie, I can always watch it with him. Or, I can watch it alone, he still can have his Stargate Atlantis in the other room.
So I spent the day pondering on things...mostly the fact that from tomorrow onwards, I'll be known as Auntie Santhi. Serious. All BH's nephews and nieces and all the kids are gonna be calling me "Auntie". Shit. Me..auntie? You graduate from a young girl ( well, I'm no spring chicken but I'm not that old lah!) to auntie..older I mean elder, and who wears funny long skirts and dishes out stupid advise to kids, like " Don't hold your face in that position or it will stay that way!". And when one marries another, you don't just marry that person, you marry his family too. Which is about to make my life a whole lot more interesting, I'll bet! Heh.
So, the dress isn't perfect, neither is the ring..though I love them both, I can still see flaws. But, this girl realises it's not about the dress, it's not about the ring and it sure as heck isn't about the flowers. It's about two people, flawed as people are, deciding to enter another phase of life together and making a legal commitment of that. Sure, I really don't expect our marriage to be perfect, there is no such thing. But I am glad however that my BH, the other person in this, doesn't believe it's all perfect either. He knows my flaws, as I know his, and we're gonna work on this thing called a marriage, with all our heart, our soul and our spirit. Which incidentally is on our imperfect, very meaningful rings..heh. We shall post one on our rings..very cool, unconventional pair, just like us.
Wish us luck.

Yea, no big news anymore lar..but heck...I'm getting married!!! It's HUGE thing...simple piece of blue letter but it's a huge step. Just the other day, BH asked me to buy him a shirt..and suddenly I realised that after all this, with that ring on my finger, I'm gonna have to look after another person in my life, my husband. Being the ever pampered sole daughter of a loving couple, all I ever had to think about for the last 30 odd years is ME...and now..must take care of BH..
Don't get me wrong, I love BH, with all my heart and soul, I just never imagined myself in this role of wife...hehehehe. But I'm not really quivering at the thought of my new responsibilities, cos I think, I might just like it. Hmm, having to look out for another person, making sure he has his clothes, he has his makan and he is is happy, sounds like a lot of fun. Of course BH does the same for me lar, and so it's even more fun!
Yup, I'm getting married...now can anyone tell me where I can enrol for cooking classes for dummies? Especially ones who can burn water?
