Sydney...Canberra

We got into Sydney at about 2plus am, checked into the Y and ended up zzzzing until afternoon. We then decided we were hungry and headed of on foot to Chinatown.

After a wonderful Yum Cha, we walked about and explore Paddy's Market...Sydney's version of Petaling street.
Bh looking at wigs, wondering how he'd look in the long blond one. I think he'd look "blond"...heheheh.

Nightfall is early in the southern hemisphere ( Bh can't open his eyes...) and before we knew it, we were hungry again...And so a visit to a Sydney icon ensued...Harry's Cafe de Wheels..must say, the dogs here...superb!!! We visited twice this trip, tried the pies and dogs and seriously, they were good!!! Later we explored the harbour at night...it was cold...even the locals found it cold..and I thought I was the only one freezing my @$$ off!Dinner was at Tony Roma's...the pics of those lovely baby bare back ribs have mysteriously disappeared..another good mum-mum...no wonder we both came back heavier!
When the next day dawned, the plan was to drop by the fish market, then off to the Blue Mountains...but BH and I, we wanted our seafood for lunch and so we had our lobster, prawn, fresh succulent oysters ( yummy), mussels, scallops and fish...fuiyo! Sedap!!!!We finally made it to the Blue Mountains...and took a pic, with the Three Sisters...the sky was an amazing blue.
Day 3 saw us visiting Bondi...nope, didn't see any nudies..

And of course, a must do in Sydney...the Harbour Cruise!!!You must experience the wind blowing into your face, distorting it...oh, it's clean, unlike the Penang ferry experience. Opera House being our lamp post

How else to see beneath the Harbour Bridge? And of course, we went to the Aquarium...these flers were just lepaking on the glass...you walk under and around a huge tank with huge, and I mean HUGE fishies swimming all around. Underwaterworld Singapore...pah!

On our last day in Sydney, we left early for the Fish Market again, Bh wanted to try the fish, steamed...I wanted my Lobster Mornay...more pics on facebook. By the time we reached Canberra, it was almost 5...Floriade was on, so Canberra had turned into a mini Keukenhoff..

Oh, we found time to goof around, before the long drive to Melbourne

More pics on Facebook...and next...Melbourne.

Day 3

This was our last day in Queensland on the agenda was a visit to a farm...its more of a vacant lot of land behind the Movieworld studios, off M1. So, it wasn't a working farm, more of a show farm, really, for us tourist types..

And here we have the two Malaysian tourist, taking pics of themselves on the tram into the farm...note Japanese writing in back..

I had to have my pic taken with an Australian Icon...and hence the KOALA! BH was staring at the Koala's paws, which seemed to be grabbing something it shouldn't! Luckily it was a female Koala..

My startled expression at the kangaroo feeding from my hand! It had a very, very fuzzy mouth...hehehehe, ticklish!

Baa-baaa...black and white sheep...this fler was called Jazzie

And here we have the sheep, the girl and the cowboy who asked" The guy with you is your dad, ain't he?" Hehehe...BH was NOT pleased!!!

But at least he got some cow to flirt with him too! Dunno what it is bout BH, the cow just loved licking his hand!
And the cowboys showed us their stuff....

After the farm thingy, we decided to head into Surfers, walkabout a bit and ended up here...on the 77th floor of Q1, the tallest residential building in the world, 20th tallest structure in the world. It's 79 floors have apartments, which I'm sure cost amounts I cannot begin to imagine, cos this is one of the views!

Breath taking, ain't it?

And here we have the tourist buying stuff from Coles, for our 10 hour plus journey by car to Sydney... More, in the next post....

Back to work..and BC and BS

Am gonna take a break from blogging about the trip, cos the pics are with BH. It's back to work for both of us and its tough breaking out of holiday mode. Mind still stuck on lepaking..hehehehe.

Anyways, Bh and I made it for Shades class Tuesday night. He must have missed the lurve...cos he was starring at BH the whole night. Who's making doe eyes now, ha? Kekeke. It was a good class, as usual, but both BH and I were still kinda tired and kinda sluggish. The body is also on holiday mode. Plus with the "extra baggage" we were carrying around..gosh. Dunno how we managed to move at all.

Shades has a newbie on stage with him..Adrian. Hehehe...newbies..Bh had fun making his faces. Guy must think Bh is retarded or something...hehehehe. As for me, I was tired, didn't wanna push myself, so I used the "I don't understand your cue" look to get out of it. Heh...sorry Shades. Adrian was good, I think he'll be ok next Tuesday...wonder if I can pull the same stunt again? Better not, lar huh?

BS on Wednesday was also a sluggish day for me. Bh went for RPM and almost passed out at track 7...two weeks of not doing anything other than walking and sitting in a car has taken its toll. Aiyo..how to lose the extra baggage like this?

The trip Down Under, Part 2...still Queensland

Day 2 down under...for Bh and I, our itinerary was where this big fella lives... Yep....Seaworld...

We reached a little too late to catch the dolphin show, but we did catch the dolphin feeding time...they were soooo friendly, constantly swimming close to get a better view of the people watching them...hehehehe
What was in Shark Bay? Sharks lar...duh!...You can pay extra to go swim with them...but for easy meat like us, we gave it a pass.We didn't spend much time at Sea World, mainly because we wanted to meet up with Andrew and Michelle, and drive up to the Sunshine Coast, which was about an hour plus away. We wanted to get there by 5, when everything shuts down. We made it to Strawberry Fields, where we could pick our own berries..we opted to buy, but cam whored a bit.. The strawberry looks good, didn't it? Didn't taste as nice though...heh.

Also at the Sunshine Coast...the BIG Pineapple.. a working pineapple farm, which was closed, as we got there past 5...still, nice pic with the pineapple,no?And on one of our last stops at the Sunshine Coast, Moolloolaba...say it with me...Moo-Loo-La-Ba...hehehe. Them Aussie's have funny names, don't they? This place is a beach side area, lots of apartments and vacationers here. Nice place to visit...

Next post...SYDNEY!!!! ( And the 10 hour plus journey there). Oh..and before that, the visit to the farm, where the cowboy hits on yours truly..heh. Will upload pics on facebook...fitting them all here, a bit susah ler..

The trip Down Under Part 1...Queensland

So, we finally got back at 6 plus Monday morning...left Tullamarine at 12.15 am, flew through out the night and landed at 6.15 am. The flight was not good, Boeing 777's are cramped man! But Bh and I, being so unbelievably exhausted, managed to get a few winks.

So, Monday, we were both drained...my doggie was so glad to see me, she whined quite a bit too. Mum said I'd gotten darker and left the obvious fact that I'm chubbier unmentioned. Hehehe..

So here's the run down..will try to upload more pics later, as BH has the whole cd with him at work...Yup, he's back in the office, where else I, have another day to recover. So here's the first installation of what could be a very long series...so much happened, leh.

Lets start with breakfast...Aussie style...

BH did the Vegemite sandwich thing..and will put up the whole experience later. I stuck to my bacon, toast, cereal and hash, which was ordinary but good. The vegemite thing? Euww...I still don't get it. On day 1 post arrival, we went to Movie World..
Yep. We did THAT...the Superman Escape.....what a ride! We start off really fast, go into 4 G's, then plunge into a negative G...wow! walked out dizzy but ecstatic!Batman and Robin...Batman did all the sulking, robin did the taking and smiling...huiyo, so cool! Hmm...I wonder what BH is up to?Hehehehe.

This is Story Bridge, an important landmark in Brisbane. Every time we passed or went over it, Andrew, Bh's cousin would mention it..so, it must be important...hehehehe. After Movie World, we didn't have much time, so Andrew drove us to Brisbane, about an hour away to tour the city.

This was taken from a lookout point, with Brisbane CBD the background.Oh, thats Andrew, BH's cousin who very graciously took us around, everywhere. And that's the Holden Statesman...Aussie's answer to Proton Perdana. The Prime Minister goes around in it. I doubt our PM goes around in his Perdana. But anyway, its was HUGE...loads of leg room in the back, so very, very comfy. Unfortunately, it was also a fuel guzzler..a full tank, which didn't go very far, was about 70 Aussie dollars..Thats the CBD in the background, after sunset. It was about 6 I think. We took this off a hilltop...can't remember the name though..oops.It was cold...hung on to BH to keep me warm...he did a good job..heh.Part of dinner that night...on top, Croc meat. Tasted bland, like chicken, but dry. And the bottom, Skippy...kangaroo meat..tasty that one! BH wanted to bring home some fillets, but there was no way we could do it, without it going bad..More next posting..

Short news update...the story so far

Am now in Melbourne, haven't had a chance to touch a computer for a good one week, the withdrawal is kicking in..hehehehehe. BH and I have been so busy. We landed in Brisbane Int, on Tuesday night last week, where BH's cousin, decided to meet up with us. The plan was to spend a few days in the Gold Coast, then DRIVE to Sydney, spend a few days there, then DRIVE to Melbourne, spend more time here with BH's relations.

I'm a virgin to this island continent, when they first suggested it, didn't realise that one way from Surfers to Sydney would take 10 hours...thats like driving from Singapore to Kedah, then back again. Hence, have not been looking for wi-fi spots.

Have learnt a few rather nice things so far...Coles, DFS ( ooh, already spent money here!), clean toilets ( mostly), bacon, seafood thats right off the boat. Only one bad thing so far..vegemite sandwich. Euuw, don't like that. Oh, and there's the weather. Its a tad cold and dry at times...
More updates when we find the time. Oh, and do wiat for the pics. we took soooo many, have to get home and organise then first..hehehe.

Am missing my classes...BH misses Shades terribly.

The bags are packed

Well, they have been packed for a good while already now. All set to go. At 2pm today, I am, officially, on HOLIDAY...till Oct 3rd. Yeeehaaa!

Holiday begins with a nice relaxing 2hr plus facial and wax at BSC, then home for dinner with the folks, after which I shall head over to BH's for the night. Our flight is at 10 am tomorrow and from then on, So what?!! will be on a two week hiatus. Unless of course we find the time in our busy schedules and we have internet access somewhere to blog. BH will have a full report on the food and I will have a full report on the other insignificant stuff, heh.

So, where we going? Most of you would have been there and spent a good deal of time there. Bh has been there once, I have never set foot there. I'll give you a few clues: Strictly Ballroom, Mooloollaba, Toni Collete and Vegemite sandwiches...ok, smartalecks?

Oh, before I go, just one more thing: What goes around, comes all the way back around, so says JT.

She will make you drool...

Ok, link,link,link...thats how I got here, but once I did...aiyo...start to drool already. The stuff looks soooooo good, especially around lunch time..smack! Go! Click!

BC 33...FINALLY!

I finally got to do BC 33 yesterday evening. Was supposed to go make doe eyes at Shades on Tuesday, but the flu got the better of me. An impending food gorging holiday awoke me and made me hit the gym yesterday. Did weights on my own, since BH was in Penang and then managed to survive Jason's class.

So, how was it? Good. Very good. Another release I like. Except for the "Stomp" thingy. Just feel like a fool doing it, especially when the others around me look funny doing it...aiyo! Yesterday's class was good, Jason just keeps getting better. Though his class is usually scripted, he's getting better at it, getting more natural. Plus, it was the first time I was doing the release and I didn't get lost...which means, his instructions were clear. This boy, got potential.

On stage with him last night was a newbie..well, not so newbie, been seeing her face around for a bit. Charlene I think he name is..getting better too, much more comfortable on stage now. I wonder when I'll get to actually hear her instruct? Shades?

Anyways, class was over pretty quickly, sweat buckets felt all the aches from the weights and decided to trot off, much to Jack Black's consternation who quipped "Eh, Berns not here what? What's your hurry?" Well, the hurry is do to last minute stuff and preparation for trip ...and I was also hungry...rush to go home makan lar!

The class was unusually packed, probably cos most people get off early because of the fasting month. Oh, and on that subject, it's also the month I, my brother, Raja, Desmond and any other Chindian ( except Shal) get starred at when we eat in public. Sorry people, we can't help our skin colouration, don't judge us! Shal on the other hand, well, we all think that as a child, she must have been so precocious, she fell into a tub of bleach..she has the skin tone of a chinese..

But other than that, Ramadhan is all good...especially the Pasar's...mmmm, maybe can hit the Taman Tun one on Saturday..hehehe. Wont be here to enjoy most of it though, seing as BH and I will be away..far,far away!

Sorry Teoh...

Had to give BS a miss last night. Wasn't a patient that held me back, rather it was my BH. Why?He'd just come back from Kuantan, is off today for Penang and wanted to see me. Hmm..BS with Teoh or dinner with BH and family? Not exactly a tough choice..sorry lar Teoh.

My initial plan was to work out like crazy before my holidays, when I'd most probably be eating like crazy. But alas, the flu dampened any hopes of a workout on Monday and Tuesday. Yesterday my excuse was BH...heh.

Have now abandoned my workout like crazy plan. I mean, I'm gonna come back pudgier anyway, what with all the eating and lazing around..might as well accumulate the fat, then get rid of it all in one go? Of course, that means a whole lot more work lar...but it also means I get to slack off for now...hehehehe.

Well, at least I have BH to train me now, and he's such a drill Sergeant. I can't wait till next Tuesday!!!! Excitement filled with a tinged of apprehension...its not a regular holiday this one.

I'm Broke...

This can only mean one thing, it's J-Card Day...hehehehe. My annual pilgrimage to Jusco in MV to stock up on skin care. Nothing else is worth the effort, other than my SK II, in a nice red bag, with all the freebies...oh, and those vouchers. How much? This year's voucher collection is RM 90....so go do the math on how much I spent on my SK II.

The other stuff on sale...not worth the hassle, seriously. Well, not for me anyway. But apparently to a whole lot of people, it's worth it lar. Since 7 am this morning, people have been streaming in, most already having a plan of attack. First hit ladies, pick up bra, then hit men's, etc....I picked up my stuff early, there was a special counter set up, no ques, no hassle. Plus I pre-ordered the stuff, it was all packed up and ready to go already. Not much in the bag anyways, seeing the stuff is pricey. But I'm happy...it lasted me a whole year!

Anyways, back to J-card Day. Went back to Jusco lunch time to get my vouchers and decided to just browse in the store itself..big mistake. It was jam packed with people..they were either picking stuff up, queuing to try them on or just queuing to pay. Oh, some were just tagging along, you know, the husbands, the boyfriends, the kids? Poor things..

Did I mention the traffic jam? It must be horrendous outside. I bet getting in is impossible, dunno about getting out. I guess I will know first hand later then..heh. J-Card Day...

A very piggy weekend.........

No, BH and I didn't behave like pigs..well, not quite lar. As most weekends of mine, the "weekend" begins on Saturday afternoon. Right on the dot at 5, I dashed off to Axis. Didn't even realise the launch was on, and was surprised to see the gym quite full at 5 plus.

See, BH had decided to PT me, since I'd been complaining about my current shape and wanting to hire an actual PT. So session 1 started on Saturday. BH was tough! Am feeling the aches now...But it was good..might want a second session before going on holiday, hehehe.

After work out is where we went piggy. Decided to go to Checkers. BH had been ranting about this place for a while now, claiming they have the best ribs in town. So, what else? Go makan lar. We tried Porky's Best and their BBQ ribs with their pig tail soup. I liked the soup and the BBQ ribs, but the Porky's Best was a bit too dry for my liking. All in all, the food was good, and that was a very "piggy" meal. BH will put up pictures later. After dinner, we decided to bug Anneh at Online. Luckily we didn't order a round of ribs here as well..the stout was enough, heh.

Got up early on Sunday, courtesy of my brother, who decided to call at 7.30 am! Couldn't sleep after that , as much as I wanted to. So busied myself with "research" for our holiday, then decided to go for launch at the Curve. Bumped into what I would call a "man-bitch". No offense to gay men, but why do some gay men behave like bitches? As it is, I can't tolerate women who behave like bitches, but when a man does it, it's just WRONG. You know the type..he struts, taps his feet impatiently and does simple things like pressing the lift buttons with annoyance, as if the lift buttons made him have a bad day?

Anyway, BS 69 was great! Jeremy and Riyo did a great job. Had intended to stay for BC, but my aching body told me not to. Plus I had a lunch date with BH. Caught a glimpse of Renee on stage. Must say, woman looks good. She must have worked real hard to get where she is and its great to see an instructor grow. BC 33 sounded pretty cool, at least from the showers where I was during warm up. Will try on Tuesday, so Shades, you better make it good!

Lunch was yet another piggy affair, BH and I opting for mixed rice with a healthy dose of sweet and sour pork and pork cooked Hakka style.I think after all the meat over the weekend, will have to go vege for at least a day...am expecting a meatier time during the hols too. And on that note, its only a week away! Yipppee!

Wednesday, September 05, 2007

And I made it!

Was supposed to end up in the Curve, disturbing that Japanese woman called Riyo. But Teoh said the magic words, cancel appointment...well, it wasn't me, I swear! My patient called up and cancelled at the last minute.

And so, a mad rush ensued...it's no fun dashing off at 6.00 pm for a 6.45 pm class. Especially if you have to run up 2 flights of stairs, drive like a mad woman through traffic, park the car, dash up to the gym, change and finally enter the class. Needless to say, its all about the lurve....hehehehe.

Yesterdays class made me feel like babe, as in the pig.. and sweating like one. I dunno, maybe it was me, or maybe the air conditioning wasn't working, but the class was HOT. Yea, the instructor was hot la, but I mean it was stuffy. Could barely breathe. Had to run out right before conditioning, barely made it out to find BH downstairs, doing his shoulders. Have to say, for a guy who is sick, he still looks good working out...hehehehe.

Yea, poor baby is having a cough and cold, courtesy of me I presume. Have to try Eli's Vicks therapy. It worked for me.

On another note, another week plus to go..am so excited, but also quite nervous and apprehensive. What may begin as a holiday may indicate a huge change in my life...am at a crossroads in which making a decision will become harder soon. Life...its not dull at the moment!

Fearing the wrath of Shades

Ok, maybe it's not THAT extreme lar, but BH and I decided we should head over to DU, unless we wanna end up as Shades topic for the day. Frankly, I can't modify no sappy love songs for s***, so forget it lah. Almost dying from flu but I still went for class yesterday...is that lurve or what?

Speaking of lurve...why is everyone suddenly quite aware of Shades new "direction". I mean the signs were there already...the occasional "dressing" up for fun, ballroom dancing? Oh and of course his constant complaints that he doesn't get any lurve from FBB...is it any wonder that he grabbed BH's bum last night? And I'm not surprised? Heh.Hmmm.....

Apart from the ass grabbing, last night was still a fun night. I have to learn how to stop laughing so hard so I can actually get a good work out though. The only downside was Tempo...I hate this release! Why? Cos' its our release..I've done it so many times, pretty much sick of it. Thankfully, only one track last night and the one I can tolerate the most. So, not to bad after all, still jumped, went crazy and had fun.

Tonight, I wanna do some serious Bodystep...but I think I won't make Teoh's class, not unless my appointment cancels at the last minute...so I guess I'll go disturb Riyo.

I'm gonna do "The Swee"

Swee, cut her long locks, wasn't happy with it, so she then cut it shorter again...restyled and I must say, she looks damn hot. I, in a spur of the moment thing, cut MY hair and it doesn't look hot at all. It's bad, real bad.

So now, I'm contemplating a "Swee". Hang Britney...she's a bad role model. Thankfully I didn't go all G.I Jane, nor did I go "au naturel" in the undie department, wear a short skirt and have pics taken as I'm getting out of a car. Never, ever, do a "Britney".

I just have to find the time to do it. Gonna do a "Swee"

Update:Did "the Swee"...had the Creative Director of my salon re-style my hair during lunch...walked back to work, got compliments from patient and nurse...I'm happy.

The looong weekend

Time goes by very quickly when one is having fun. My long weekend began on Thursday afternoon. BH and I had decided to hit Jason's BC at the Curve. Unfortunately, since it was also Merdeka Eve, and the Curve was open till midnight, a lot of people decided to throng the place as well. There was some kinda event there also. Couldn't get in at all. Ended up spending an hour in the car, driving there and back. So Bh and I decided to hit a smaller shopping place, Jusco in Kepong.

Merdeka Day was as usual in my household...the parade would be on the telly, mum, dad and I would occasionally peep and watch who's parading. This year, spent it with the folks, having Dim Sum with their friends. After that, decided to pick up BH and head to the gym for some weights. Got there, and lo and behold, Peter ( The Great, so says Lionheart) was teaching. Could not let that opportunity pass me by. Not when even Bh thinks he's amazing. And so too did a huge number of LM members.

The class was packed! It was another gruelling session, which made up for Thursday's lack of exercise. Though PTG was great, I guess I'm still partial to Teoh...dunno la, still like his class a bit more..heh.

After class, we decided to get a massage and facial respectively. BH, being not metrosexual, had only done a facial once in his life..in Bali last year. Being with me must have made him more conscious of his skin. Finally got him to get a facial, after hearing him complain about his blackheads and all. Hehehe....

Saturday we decided to hit the gym yet again! This time, for Jason's class in LM. Still tired from PTG's class, I could barely move. But we had to work out, cos we were off to Genting after lunch. BH's uncle is in some rice wholesaler association, and they were having a dinner in Genting. We were summoned. BH has pics of the food, which wasn't that great...it was Genting after all.

So, we took a leisurely drive up and spent our actual weekend in Genting. Somehow the amusement rides didn't beckon us as it did last year..so we gave it a miss. Spent most of our time taking pics...of whatever lah. Bh now in picture taking craze, having recently acquired a new camera.

So that, is my rather dull report on my wonderful weekend. Just can't get any creative juice flowing today as the only thing that's flowing is my nose. Came down from Genting with a cold, which I have rather successfully shared with BH. Will try writing something a little wittier tomorrow.

Today no patient ah?

Made it to Teoh's class yesterday, after a week or was it two week hiatus. Teoh always puts a smile on his face and last night, tough as it was, I was still smiling. Have been having a low energy week, just can't get my legs to move these past few days. Must be getting old. Oh, and the knee is starting to ache too...not good signs these.

Well, it's Merdeka Eve people..and the beginning of a looong weekend. Most of you would not really consider this as being a long one, but I do. Since my weekend is just Sunday most of the time. This week, after 2pm today, I am OFF!!!!! Took Saturday off as well, some dinner BH's uncle wants us all to attend, so decided heck, connect the dots lar! In all fairness, I did offer to work on Friday to replace Saturday, but the bos said no,just take off. Am wondering now what happened to my bos, and what this clone has done to the real guy?

Oh, Hitz.fm is doing some 50 hour breakfast show thing. They've been on since 6 am yesterday and will be annoying all their listeners till tomorrow I guess. Heh...anyone wanna go bug them?

And if you've been driving at 9 plus in the am's these days, its not surprising to hear thunder up in the skies. The fighter jest are out...Merdeka Parade rehearsals. I wonder when else they bring them jets out to play? But they do look impressive lar...maybe will watch the parade on telly tomorrow.

BH and I have yet to decide what to do...but have a great Merdeka, everyone! And remember, in 1957...Rudy's name ia Harun, and JJ's name is Johan and...I wasn't even born yet!

Making Doe Eyes....

Prologue: After yesterday's bout of cryptic posting, we are now back to the regular programming.

Since last weeks Shanti's Combat night, had not seen Shades at all...let alone make doe eyes at him. Have not been stalking him...apparently I'm too busy stalking someone else.

BH and I showed up, observed the instructor, instead of our reflections in the mirror( like the good members we are), then had dinner with him, only to have him claim I'm "looking at him funny" and be warned that if we don't show up next week, he'll bitch about it. Woi! You trying to increase blog traffic arr? Just remember, Who's your daddy?????

Anyway, Shades class is always good lar..queing spot on, instructions always clear. If you wanna know how good an instructor is, just look at the newbies...if they can follow and are not lost, doing their own thing, then he's good. If it's full of regulars, but they're all doing their own and sometimes wrong thing, then he sucks. Shades is one of the former...so is Renee, who showed up last night, and Jason, Eugene, You, most of the step instructors, Eric and Lynn....acthelli most our FF instructors la.

Shades, though being HT for BC, when he heard Renee was gonna be in class, asked her to give feedback...that shows quite a bit of humility and have to give kudos to him for that. It shows he is constantly trying to improve himself, which in the end means better instructor for us..no wonder he is HT.

Over dinner we had a lot to bitch about....hehehe...deciphering cryptic posts all. Kekeke...But Shades, sorry lar dude. I only have eyes for BH these days ( sound of readers barfing)...after all, he's willing to bear the pain of childbirth for me..if ever it were possible lar. How to get a man like that?

You're so strange...

Disclaimer...the following is incoherent ramblings of a seriously bored mind..do not attempt to associate this with ramblings of less incoherent means.

You're so strange,

You probably think this song is about you

You're so strange,

You probably think this song is about you, don't you, don't you....

Most of us would have grown up to a version of this song and probably on a healthy dose of humble pie ( and Crab Curry).

We probably would also have listened to Billie Jean...well, she wasn't Jacko's lover, so he said. I personally love Alannis's Ironic...but heck, I didn't grow up with that one. Let's see...what did I grow up with? Hmm...Let it Be? Nah, that was BH...I guess mostly Wacko ( Jacko)..Beat It! And Paula ( ok BH, I'll admit I have the record)...Straight Up...if only people did just that. Oh, and Bon Jovi...You give love a bad name! Woohoo...

We probably also would have watched Psycho, Fatal Attraction, but never thought of stalking anyone, right? Get Shorty was one of my favourites...but never would I think about getting with a shortie, though.Well, maybe once, before the Love Actually taught me better.

"Huff and puff and I'll blow your house down"...said the big bad wolf to the three little piggies... childhood fairy tales from so long ago. I personally think Goldilocks took advantage of the Three Bears, didn't like that one.

Its funny how life imitates art, ain't it?

I did a Britney!

Well...almost. Didn't go bald exactly, but as Shades put it.."What happened to your hair?". Seeing as miracles are few and difficult to come by, the obvious explanation to that question would be, I cut it.

Though it's been a week already, didn't really bother to mention it...but yesterday met up with some people I haven't seen in a while who were a little..well..surprised. So I cut it, coloured it a week ago..at the spur of the moment. Why? Because I got up that morning, saw my hair in a mess, was too freaking lazy to blow it and decided...CUT! I told my stylist...wash and wear. Hence....

The upside, I don't have to bother with the bottle brush and blow drying straight, though if I wanted to, it would still look good. I don't need a trim every 3 weeks or so, when the bob goes out of shape. I don't waste as much on shampoo or conditioner...and on holiday coming soon, I wont have to worry about it looking messy. It's supposed to look messy now..heh.Oh, and two people said I look slimmer, after cutting it.

The downside, apparently I look "more mature", it's not as sexy and well...I ain't no Halle Berry. Short looks ok, but long..better.Good thing hair grows. So, as is the cycle of my hair trends, the next thing I will do is keep it long again...hehehehehe. Well, that's hair for you. Can't live with it, can't live without it.

I think my receptionist has caught on....

These days, my appointment at 6 is always taken...I just don't know though how my receptionist manages to get the 6 o'clock to come in late, thereby screwing any chance of me finishing by 6.15 and dashing off for class. By the time I get into my car to drive, Teoh's class would already have started. I wish I could disapparate and transform...that way I can apparate in class, all transformed from office wear to work out wear in an instant...sigh..

Though I'll miss Teoh's class terribly, I have found an alternative. Tried it out yesterday..Finally made it to Riyo's class last night. She actually pointed out that I haven't been in any of her classes since she gave up combat and that's eons ago! No doubt she was surprised to see me in her BS class...hehehe. It was a great workout..my bum aches, my legs wobbly. I wonder how I'm gonna do my weights today?

As for Tuesdays...well, there's always Shades, isn't there? It's Shades...can never go wrong one, sure to work up an unbelievable sweat. It's either because he's damn good or I work extra hard in his class..I try real hard NOT to curi tulang mah, bad for ego...heh. I guess now I really have no excuses not to hit the gym.

The day this girl finished a full bowl of rice

Just ask BH, he'll tell you how much rice I normally eat. I eat, like a pigeon...cutting down on the carbs has been my perogative for a long time now, after I realsied I don't need all that energy. But today, different story.

Was hungry, planned on fast food, my craving for McD's fries peaking...walked down to the place, only to find it packed, with school kids no doubt. It's the school holidays, the explanation for relatively smooth driving to and from work, but also horrendous crowds in the mall where I work. Plus, today is 6 ringgit Wednesday...the movies is blardy cheap, the crowds blardy stupid enough to contribute to the jam.

So, fast, unhealthy proccessed foods...out of the question, I was thinking and thinking and thinking...yea, 3 times of that...where should I go? Finally remembered a place I haven't visited in a while...Nam Heong...

And so, a bout of Char Siew Kai Pei Fan ensued...I believe one should never waste good food, so I finished up the chicken...yummy, the char siew, which was sweetish, tangy-ish...soo yummy and.... the whole, entire, filled to the brim, bowl of RICE. Chicken rice lar, the taste also...wah.

Too bad, didn't feel like taking pics before the meal. Unlike BH, I can't stand hunger while taking multiple shots of food in front of me..By the time I looked up, plate of chicken..gone, plate of rice and rice bowl..clean. I left feeling a wee bit sick, but oh so satisfied.

Oh! I also got a call from ching chong lady. True to Kenny Sia's adventure with them, she spoke in Mandarin and her first question was, "Do you speak Mandarin?" Well, I understand enough to reply, IN ENGLISH that I don't. The response was immediate..she hung up. I wonder, how on earth did they get my number? But then again, these days, even the Celco's could be selling it. Cis! So, don't get greedy...nothing is for free.

Shanti's Combat..

Last night, Shades played all the requested songs, had us all breathless and in stitches...he's such a comic that one. The things he does for cheap publicity, huh? It was a good class, had a great workout, but this post will be short, as it is twinged with a sense of sadness.

Heard from Shades and his gf about someones personal tragedy...shocked both BH and I. Things happen, things that cannot be anticipated, things we can never be prepared for. Our condolences to yhsmom. We hope that indeed, she will find the strength to carry on, in what must be a very difficult time.

While my baby was sleeping

This year, didn't make any fancy plans for BH..so instead, the girl who can burn water, decided to make a cake.....a Philadelphia Cream Cheese

Mum made spagehetti, Kepong style.....

The song singing....The candle blowing........And of course, the cake cutting...which was very, very, diffficult. The base was too thick..used a cake tin that was a wee tad too small for the recipe..heh

Even my doggie was wondering what the excitement was all about.

And, BH's birthday pressie...the fireworks after.

Popped over to Putrajaya for the Malaysian International Fireworks Competition, which kicked off the very same day. What a show...but the jam after was horrendous. All roads out of Putrajaya lead to one massive jam. Took us 2 hours to get home. What a birthday.

Shades, you better read this!

Your list is up...now go get cracking!!!!!

Thursday afternoons

Thursday afternoons are wonderful for me...I get to have a siesta, then leisurely decide where and what to do after. The last few weeks have been spent going for classes that I normally can't make, the 6pm plus ones. Today however, my plans to attempt pump after a year long hiatus were dashed. By a makan plan, no less. BH's mum's actual birthday is today and she wants to have dinner together.Well, pump can wait..

So, I decided to hit the weights. To me, it's a wonderful feeling, just me, my weights and my music. When the music is right, the mood is right, the weights feel right. And today, the weights felt right..its hard to explain that feeling, when your mind and muscles connect, as in you can visualise what the weight exercise is doing to the muscle, move it to the beat of the music and just feel the motion...it just hits the spot, right there..I'm making this sound like sex, aren't I? Hmmm...but seriously, when the connection is there, the work out is definitely more effective. Just ask a PT..also, the routine is less tiresome and dull.

Today, it was BC 17, all the way. I love that release, its one of those that connects with me. Most of the tracks were good. Of course my first memory of doing BC 17 has something to do with that.It was Singapore, a few years back. Was there for quaterly, which back then was held in Planet Fitness. Went all the way there and got my first taste of a quaterly and BC17..it was AWESOME. Of course the presenters were amazing...one white guy, cute, but forgot his name and guess who? Tracy Minnoch. Heck, that woman can teach any programme and make it fun...

I couldn't take my eyes of her...I couldn't stop listening to her technique ques..I learnt so much that day. BC came very much alive for me and I connected with the moves, the music, the presenter. What an experience..I wanted to come right back and do BC over and over and over again.I'll never forget that experience or BC 17. Honestly, even BC training wasn't as much fun as that one class...

Now, everytime I hear BC 17...hehe..love it! I wonder why not many instructors teach it?

Tuesday nite requests

Ok, I've put up the list for next Tuesday's combat in Uptown...any other suggestions and requests welcome..will submit to Shades by Saturday, otheriwse as I said earlier..BC 19...EUUUGGHHHHH.

All requests will be entertained...unless there are multiple requests for the same track, then I decide which one I want, lar, ok? Requests from non-participants in Singapore also welcome...so, fill in the blanks, people

Shanti's tuesday night combat!

Battled traffic, slight drizzle, paid 3.50 in tolls and 2.50 in parking fees to attend Shades class last night at Uptown...only to find out that he wasn't teaching. Poor Shades on MC, so he was replaced. Class was ok,lar..BH and I missing our tall friend.

To make it up, next Tuesday has been declared "Shanti's Combat" day...hehehehe. I get to pick the tracks...hehehehe. Anyone have any requests? Shades has threatened that if I don't submit the selection by Saturday, ALL tracks will be from BC 19. NOOOOOOOOOOO! So..come one, come all, gimme some picks for songs and lets have a great combat workout,eh?

Don't tailgate..you might not get married...

For the reading pleasure of my single, unattached friends...

10 things a singleton does not appreciate.

1) Time for friends:
Face it lar..you're friends take a back seat to that special someone, it happens.

2) Time for yourself:
Time spent shopping will be halved, as the other half, would rather do something else.

3)The freedom to drop everything and go...where the wind blows..:
Unless other half wants to drop everything as well, which in most cases, unlikely.

4)Making plans for yourself:
Have to include the other person also mah..correct right?

5)Flirting shamelessly with everyone :
When you're single, nothing to lose, right? Why not? When you're attached..not such a good idea.

6)Party like there's no tomorrow :
Unless other half is a party animal as well. Gets more complicated when kids are involved..or parents for that matter. Your gf's parents might not appreciate you bringing home their daughter at all odd hours of the night.

7) Deal with difficult questions:
Like, when is your big day? When are you two tying the knot? When will we see mini versions of you? But then, singletons also get this annoying question. But you can reply..I haven't found the right one..easy. Couple's can't.

8) Worry about the future:
As in saving money to get married. Hey, weddings aren't cheap, ok? Plus you have to think about buying a place to live and all sorts of other financial troubles. Kids aren't cheap either you know..and there's the worry about how to feed, clothe and educate the fellas...it's like a 20 plus year worry.

9) Share space with another person:
It's not easy living with another person, especially if you're the territorial type. Or if the other half is..

10) Deal with "eccentricities" of other half:
You know, the farts, the nose digging, the toilet seat up...etc.

But for the record...am currently not missing single life that much..heh.

Pimping Talented Okra

If you browse my links, I've included this new one. And so, So What!?? is proud to present....

WENDIKAA!

The talented artist, Wendikaa is a confused Chinese girl who thinks she's Indian and in reality is more Indian than me. We used to play masak-masak with flour and branches in the dried up longkang in front of her house, go camping with one other girl and 20 over boys, and still hold our own, be the first in school to join the BOY Scouts and she was also the first person I ran too when some dirty old man attacked me. She is now undeniably talented with a lens and is for HIRE...but you'll have to stand in line behind DIGI..yup! That's Wendikaa...

For more info, contact Wendy Lim at wendy@uemworld.com

It's another Monday!

Ok folks, hope you had a great weekend. I had a rather busy one. Saturday night was spent chaufferring the parent units to a dinner and shopping thereafter, on the day city hall decides to change the roads in the Sg. Wang area. Managed to give the folks an unplanned tour of Imbi, Jalan Sultan Ismail and the Menara Standard Chartered area, after spending 40 minutes stuck in a jam..

Luckily the shopping after was a whole lot more fun...BH and I planned to buy a gift for his mum's birthday, but we ended up buying gifts for ourselves as well. Ended Saturday night with me K.O'd in bed and BH watching footie with me dad..the two main men in my life, bonding. would have been better if my brother were around.

Sunday was the usual gym thingy in LM...but it was also BH's mum's birthday dinner. Off we went to The Renaissance. Food was good, enjoyed the sucking piggy and the salted egg prawn the most. And the company...BH has jokers for uncles..hehehe. And so, the weekend ended late..hence a very sleepy me. Sleepy, but happy.

So sleepy...

The past couple of days have been a little tiring..been working out, getting all tired, but have not been able to sleep well. Might have been because BH wasn't around, or more likely because there are many thoughts plaguing my mind. I wish I had a Pensieve..hehehehe. Too much Harry Potter, I know.

It seems very clear now that life is ever changing. What we think and assume are the same problems we've faced before might actually be different ones. Andrew Matthews says life makes you hit a wall, until you learn your lesson, then you go past that wall. Then life will hit you with another wall, and so on..thats how you learn. I'm a slow learner...I hit the same wall many times.

Of late, many plans have been put into action. Life changing plans. Though unwilling to reveal anything at the moment, when the time comes, all shall be revealed. I am truly hoping that all these plans will come to fruition..however, I am also quick to caution myself that these plans are not without risks or adversity. But I believe that good things don't always come easily and when one has a dream of a better life, it's worth a try.So that, currently is the plan. Have not even worked out the details yet, but am still very much full of ambition. Hopefully the ambition is enough to drive me through the many obstacles I see in my path.

Kt wrote recently, on life revamping...how true that post sounds to me. I'm sure many of us have gone through that, when life seems oddly routine, complacent, inadequate. There must be something more, and this is what I think makes us human...our need for something more.

Rainy daze...

Though I do like Chopin, I just can't understand why almost every new instructor's class I go for, they end up playing BC 19. Just ask Shades, how many times we'd done this release...reason enough for me to cringe the moment I hear the intro.

Which was what I did yesterday...for the first three tracks. Thankfully, from then on, it was other releases. I might have walked out otherwise..heh. Managed to get some weight work done, until superbly fit white woman showed up. Thereafter, felt really shy and lost my confidence , so went shower lar. Will try to prove to Eric today that I don't just use those small blue baby weights. Ok lar, not much more than those blue weights, but at least I do fly's, on the fitball with 15lbs. Ok weight, what? For a girl?

BH came back after two days in the jungle..red and tanned. He gets sun burned easily. Otherwise, he apparently had the mother of all durians...and his breath smelt like it too. Luckily I'm a durian person myself. And Jackie girl...well, she sniffs everything and was probably hoping there was some durian for her too.

But for some reason, I just couldn't get a good night's sleep last night...must be all those worries in my head. Well, no point dwelling on problems..best to find a good way out. When God closes a door, He opens a window, I believe. A little sleep deprived, but still managed to handle a tough endo..ironically, the kind of problem I have been reading about recently. And now, back to work.

Why my office manager gets mad at me on Wednesdays.....

Because I run out at 6, latest 6 FIFTEEN, dash to my car, drive like a crazed mad woman to Manulife. Why? 6.45 class lar, why else?

Teoh is addictive. He makes me wanna come back and kill myself over and over again. Nobody walks out of his class dry. Doesn't matter if it's Dri-fit/Play-dry or Kering-kain, you're gonna be drenched. If not, you'll never walk back in, cos the class was too challenging and you quit early.

Yesterday was no different..sweat buckets, ended up feeling tired, but satisfied. Nothing like a good class to make it all feel better. Can't wait to curi ayam again next week..heh.
